It was a long road to select the speakers that can "spread that one big idea". The speakers down below were speaking at October 31. Every talk is available on Youtube. You can follow the link at the bottom of each speaker to view their talks.
The speakers are in the order of confirmation, not in the order of presentating on the day itself. For a more detailed overview of the day you can take a look at the day program.
Host: Sander Datema
Sander Datema will be the host and lead us through TEDxTilburgUniversity. He is one of the session-hosts of Durftevragen (Daretoask in English). The philosophy of Durftevragen is; if your question is clear and understandable...help will come from everywhere. Beside the Durftevragen session, Sander is also a (and our) presentation coach and will try to finetune the TEDxTalks of TEDxTilburgUniversity.

Ned McGowan & Susanna Borsch
McGowan’s music strives for an idiom in which various musics – American popular, European classical and avant-garde, Carnatic, a fascination with proportionally intricate rhythms, the use of microtones in the search for new subtleties of melody – and many others, rub against each other and generate new meanings.” This is how musicologist Bob Gilmore describes composer and flutist Ned McGowan, who was born in the United States in 1970 and has been living in the Netherlands since 1994.
Susanna Borsch was born in Hamburg, Germany, and studied recorder with Walter van Hauwe at the Amsterdam Conservatory where she completed her teaching and solo (masters) diplomas. Her final concert examination in the year 2000 featured several new works composed especially for her and the combination of recorder with live electronics. Her collaboration with composers on new solo repertoire resulted in her first solo CD "Off-limits" which received critical acclaim from all quarters when issued in 2006.
In 2012 she performed Ned McGowan's groundbreaking iPad concerto "Rotterdam Concerto No. 2" with Rotterdam Sinfonia.
Tim van Cromvoirt
Tim van Cromvoirt graduated in 2011 at the AKV St. Joost Breda as an Interactive designer. He won the ST.Joost Medal for his graduation project thermophores and his work is seen by the jury as intriguing and mysterious, technically complex, but most of all enchanting. His work takes place in the increasingly important field of art and science & technology.
Tim studies a lot about biology and this is reflected in his work which are usally his self-invented organisms. Not all of his work is specifically ment for exhibitions but rather shown in relation to dance- and interactive solutions for organizing exhibitions. Tim will tell something about art & technology in general and then will show some of his organisms.
Ton Wilthagen
Ton Wilthagen, generally known as Mr. Flexicurity, is professor of institutional and legal aspects of the labor market, Tilburg Law School and director of the Research Institute for Flexicurity, Labor Market Dynamics and Social Cohesion (ReflecT). He will talk about the way we can guarantee “work for all” by making use of a common language of competences and modern information technology in matching labor supply and demand: i(L)EARN

Yori Kamphuis
Yori is co-founder and CBDO of Coblue Cybersecurity. With Coblue, he wants to contribute to a safer world. He studied exponential technologies at the Graduate Studies program of Singularity University (aka “NASA/Google university”) in Silicon Valley this summer. Before that, he graduated on the topic Geopolitics & Cybersecurity at King’s College, London. Yori pursues his other passion for leadership development at The Leadership Group for one day a week. Challenged by medical issues (and his 20+ (foster) siblings) during his youth, his interest in DNA printing sparked when he learned about this at Singularity University. Will Robben

Hille van der Kaa
Hille van der Kaa is a lecturer and researcher in Communication and Information Science at the University of Tilburg. Her work is centrally concerned with researching datajournalism and transmedia storytelling. She previously worked as a journalist, marketing manager and publisher. On the basis of the case study ProjectX Haren, her talk provides insights in the ethical dilemmas of new as well as established media in a new information age. Such as: what is a reliable news source? When should one trust a rumor on Twitter? Does a reporter still need to be physically present during the event? Do we need to share everything?

Marco van Beers
Marco van Beers is an Eindhoven based Industrial Designer. He has an enormous fascination with how design and (emerging) technologies could facilitate and support intimate communication. He has already spoken at TEDxMaastricht and he will share with us his insights and designs he did in the context of 'intimate communication in health'

Dirk van der Veen
Dirk van der Veen is the head of the ICT Department of Het Roessingh, Center for Rehabilitation since 2007. He will talk about 'e-Health: a matter of Trust.' "The approach of the development and implementation of e-Health systems and applications needs to be changed. Only then e-Health can contribute substantially to one of today’s most challenging tasks in our society"

Maurits Kaptein
Maurits Kaptein is an assistent professor at the department Methodology and Statistics at Tilburg University. He has already spoken at TEDxHogeschoolUtrecht and will now perform at TEDxTilburgUniversity. He will talk about the science of persuasion and how to influence people using modern (online) marketing techniques.
Geert Mul
Geert Mul is an artist and will be speaking at TEDxTilburgUniversity about 'Art as a Databased Operation". He studied at the Academy of the Arts in Arnhem where he eventually specialized in computer animation. His art travelled all around the world, including Japan, China, USA and many countries in the EU. Geert Mul has it's own view on databases, ever wondered how to visualize these databases into art?
Sander Duivestein
Sander Duivestein is Trendwatcher at ViNT (Verkenningsinstituut Nieuwe Technologie) and will speak about Augmented Humanity at TEDxTilburgUniversity. "What will new technologies do for us? History has shown that every introduction of new technology has changed human behaviour and therefore the view we have on the world. What do people of the future look like?"

Eric Postma
Eric Postma is a professor in Artificial Intelligence at the Tilburg center for Cognition and Communication (TiCC) at Tilburg University.
He will talk about Social Signal Processing and Affective Computing.
